Converts Crestron Home® CAT5 balanced audio to RCA unbalanced audio.
The ABAR-1 is an active balanced-to-unbalanced audio converter designed to enable the connection of any Crestron Home® (CH) CAT5 Balanced Audio source to a conventional unbalanced stereo line-level input. It allows for extended wiring distances between the output of a “CH” compatible device, such as the Sonnex® Multiroom Audio Unamplified Expander (SWE-8), and the input of an amplifier or AV receiver.[1]

Award-winning Estate Case Studies
You might not guess it from the size of their house or the sophistication of their home systems, but the owners of this magnificent Wayne, Pennsylvania residence have simple tastes. According to Harry Blanchard, Chief Systems Integrator for Elite Home Technologies (a division of Philadelphia’s HiFi House Group), who designed the home automation systems, they are passionate about just three things:They love children and wanted a home where their large family could thrive. They love art and wanted a place where they could house and show their beautiful and extensive art collection. They are dedicated to personal fitness and healthy living and wanted a place where they could work out daily and grow their own food. These guiding principles helped build a dream home that is truly an education in what is possible with today’s technology. Still, Blanchard says it took some convincing to install the advanced control technology needed to make their new home practical, energy-efficient, safe, and comfortable.

The New York Palace Hotel Case Studies
Nearly 100 years separate three phases of construction at The New York Palace in New York City. The original mansion, built by railroad tycoon Henry Villard in 1882, still stands today as part of this timeless property. But pass through the elegant courtyard and up the grand staircase and you find yourself in a 55-story black tower added to the hotel by Harry and Leona Helmsley in 1981. The Tower rooms have played host to celebrity and royalty alike for over 30 years, but after three decades, the hotel began to show its age. Thus when Northwood Hospitality purchased the hotel last year, the owners initiated a third phase of renovation, together with a technology upgrade, that began with the 167 rooms that make up the top 14 floors of the Tower. Called in to assist with the upgrade, building technology integrator Bill Lally of Mode:Green knew immediately that a Crestron 3-series Control System would be the solution for the rooms. Crestron InfiNET EX wireless protocol allows multiple wireless devices to be connected and managed reliably, even in the most extreme RF environments. Through the gateway, the system controls the room climate, door locks, window shades, audio and lighting.
